Question: What are the details of curbside recycling in Somerville?

Answer: Your curbside recycling day is the same as your trash day.

Place all recyclable materials next to your trash on the curbside no earlier than 4:00 P.M. on the day prior to your trash day, and no later than 7:00 A.M on your trash day.

Place all co-mingled material in recycling bin. (Acceptable co-mingled items are: glass bottles, metal cans, plastic containers, & milk/juice cartons).

For mixed papers and cardboard: Place all papers (newspaper, discarded mail or junk mail, envelopes, magazines etc.) in a paper bag. Please flatten cardboard, cut and tie in approximate size of 2' x 2'. Place next to recycle bin.
